Army officers to discuss national security
A University of Louisville audience will have a rare opportunity to hear how select insiders view U.S. military operations when officers from the U.S. Army War College participate in a free, public discussion April 2. March 26, 2012The program, “National Security Issues Past and Present,” will begin at 6 p.m. in Chao Auditorium, Ekstrom Library, on the Belknap Campus. The event, which includes a question-and-answer session, is sponsored by UofL’s history department and the McConnell Center.
The four high-ranking officers are expected to talk about worldwide U.S. military efforts, security, public policy and social issues affecting the U.S. Armed Forces from their personal viewpoints and experience. Their topics will range from wounded warriors to the divide between the military and society, as well as issues in Africa, Haiti and North Korea.
