CardSafety App offers campus maps, safety tips for students, faculty, staff
The University of Louisville has launched a new application that will help users navigate campus while also offering key campus safety information. August 22, 2011CardSafety is an application for I-Phone, Blackberry and Droid. It offers an interactive campus map and a series of tips for dealing with on- and off-campus emergencies ranging from an active shooter to tornadoes and chemical spills. The app also includes an auto dialer that will connect users quickly to the campus police, 911 or the university’s escort service.
The departments of Environmental Health and Safety and Public Safety worked closely with Information Technology and the Emergency Planning Group to develop the app, which already has drawn interest from other universities wishing to purchase it from UofL.
