Douzuk named CFO of UofL Health

A professional with more than 25 years of senior financial executive experience has been named the chief financial officer of UofL Health, effective this month.

Michael Douzuk Jr. is responsible for spearheading financial strategies throughout the UofL Health organization, leading the financial teams of both UofL Hospital and UofL Physicians. He reports to UofL Health President and Chief Executive Officer Thomas Miller.

“Mike Douzuk is an expert strategist and a results-oriented leader with expertise in heading financial operations for both for-profit and non-profit multi-hospital health systems with university-affiliated teaching programs,” Miller said. “He has what we need to help us thrive in the always changing health care environment and position UofL as a market leader in Kentuckiana and beyond.”

Most recently, Douzuk was the senior vice president of finance operations at Quorum Health in Brentwood, Tenn. Quorum is a $2 billion revenue, New York Stock Exchange-listed health care company with hospitals across the United States. In this role, Douzuk assisted in the successful transition of 38 hospitals and CFOs from Community Health Systems Inc. to Quorum Health for finance protocols, policies and procedures in operations. He also developed and implemented Quorum Health’s capital expenditure program.

Prior to Quorum Health, he served in leadership roles at Community Health Systems in Franklin, Tenn., and with Conemaugh Health System in Johnstown. Penn. He earned a degree in accounting from Bentley College in Waltham, Mass.

UofL Health is a fully integrated academic health system that includes University of Louisville Hospital, the UofL James Graham Brown Cancer Center and more than 110 specialized clinics and practices.
