Egypt, art books among Hite's summer exhibitions

The University of Louisville’s Hite Art Institute will open three exhibits at its Schneider Hall galleries June 27. June 22, 2011

They will run through Aug. 7. Admission is free and open to the public. There will be an artist’s reception for all three exhibits Thursday, July 14, 4:30 p.m.–6:30 p.m.

Louisville artist and Hite alumnus Joseph McGee has responded to the recent upheavals in Egypt with a visual meditation on the Sphinx. His work will be displayed in Gallery X.

Sara Northerner, UofL’s first graduate from the new interdisciplinary humanities doctorate degree in aesthetics and creative studies, will present the visual artwork that was a part of her dissertation, “The Phenomenological Essence of Image,” in the Covi Gallery.
