ESPN's College GameDay returning to UofL

October 3, 2024

For the third time in four years, the University of Louisville will be in the spotlight for the vast audience that tunes into ESPN's College GameDay broadcast.

ESPN College GameDay Built by The Home Depot returns Saturday ahead of the UofL vs. Miami Hurricanes ACC opener at Cardinal Stadium. Kickoff for the game has been moved to 7:30 p.m. to cater to the broadcast, and the game will air on ABC.

The College GameDay coverage will start at 9 a.m. live from Cardinal Stadium. Unlike the show's previous Louisville appearances near the stadium in 2016 and on the Oval in 2017, fans will not be permitted to attend GameDay, tailgate or park in any lots due to COVID-19.

The weekly show is hosted by Rece Davis, who is joined by analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Maria Taylor and David Pollack.

Chris Fowler, Herbstreit, and Taylor will stay on site to call the game between Louisville and Miami. Both programs opened the season with wins. The Cardinals defeated Western Kentucky on Saturday, while the Hurricanes beat UAB 31-14 on Thursday night.

College GameDay averaged 1.956 million viewers per show last season, up 3% from the 2018 season and 6% from the 2017 season.
