Ironman triathlon to affect Belknap-area roads Aug. 26

The Ironman triathlon will take place in Louisville Sunday, Aug. 26, with racing downtown and in the Belknap Campus areas. Here are the Belknap Campus area streets that will be affected. August 17, 2012

Street Closures

These streets will be closed from mid-day into the early morning of Aug. 27.

  • Third Street from Liberty Street to Winkler Avenue, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.
  • Winkler Avenue from Third Street to Fourth Street, noon to 1 a.m.
  • Fourth Street from Winkler Avenue to Oakdale Avenue, noon to 1 a.m.

During these times, traffic will be allowed to cross the route on these roadways only when the area is clear of runners:

  • Hill Street, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Cardinal Boulevard, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Central Avenue, noon to 2 p.m.

No Parking 7 a.m. Aug. 26 to 2 a.m. Aug. 27

  • Third Street from Liberty Street to Winkler Avenue
  • Winkler Avenue from Third Street to Fourth Street
  • Fourth Street from Winkler Avenue to Oakdale Avenue
