ISLP heads to Belize for spring break

About 40 faculty, staff and students who are spending spring break in Belize as part of the International Service Learning program will document their experiences via a blog and Facebook page. March 12, 2010

In daily posts to the pages they will discuss what tasks they have accomplished and how they're responding to the experience. They'll also post photos from the day.

While in Belize, the students will break into small groups and complete a number of service projects, including operating a dental clinic, presenting workshops on bullying and conflict resolution, leading a teacher workshop and offering women's health classes.

The students and faculty are from disciplines including art therapy, dentistry, education, communication and justice administration.

The weeklong trip won't be all work, though. While in Belize, the students will have the chance to snorkel and visit such sites as the Mayan ruins and the U.S. Embassy in Belmopan
