Lemonade Day Louisville brings 5th graders to campus to learn business skills
April 11, 2019LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Will they add strawberries to draw more customers? Tuck in some drink umbrellas to stand out? For the second year, 5th graders from Portland Elementary School will practice newly learned entrepreneurial skills by selling lemonade on the University of Louisville Belknap Campus.
Lemonade Day Louisville takes place April 12, noon-2 p.m. at various sites around Belknap Campus. It is part of the national Lemonade Day initiative to teach children about the principles required to start any company.
This College of Business (COB) student-run project is also part of the ongoing Elevate Portland Initiative, which the COB launched in 2015 as a way to help give back to the community. Portland is part of UofL’s Signature Partnership Initiative. Yearly activities also include pep rallies focusing on graduating from high school and career days.
