Let’s make a deal! Trade your parking space for a new bike!
The UofL Sustainability Council is once again urging faculty, students and staff to participate in the annual Earn-A-Bike Program. July 24, 2015The program, designed to reduce pollution levels generated from driving to campus, awards a $400 voucher toward the purchase of a new bike to UofL community members who give up their parking permits for two years.
Now entering its fourth year, the Earn-A-Bike Program gives away 400 vouchers annually. According to Justin Mog, who heads up the university’s sustainability program, people are more than willing to trade in a parking space for a new bike.
“It’s a really popular program,” Mog said. “We only have 400 vouchers to give away, but every year we receive around 800 applications. Given the high level of interest, we wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to apply, but the deadline is coming up fast.”
The application deadline for the Earn-A-Bike Program is August 15 and can be accessed at http://louisville.edu/sustainability/operations/earn-a-bike-program.html.
