Nearly 800 should participate in Dec. 16 commencement ceremony

University of Louisville administrators expect nearly 800 students to participate in the winter commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. Dec. 16 at the KFC Yum! Center. December 9, 2011

President James Ramsey will preside at the event and marketing major Ashley Dunlap will be the student speaker. About 1,300 students will graduate at the conclusion of the fall 2011 semester.

There will be several commencement-related events at the KFC Yum! Center (unless otherwise noted), including:

  • Cap and gown distribution – Red Barn, Belknap Campus, noon - 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 and 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Dec. 16
  • Commencement rehearsal –6 p.m. Dec. 15
  • School of Interdisciplinary and Graduate Studies doctoral hooding ceremony –2 p.m. Dec. 16
  • President’s reception–5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16

Graduates and their guests should enter the KFC Yum! Center through the Main Street entrance. The arena is located on Main between Second and Third streets. Parking is $10 in the Riverfront Garage behind the arena. There are additional garages and metered parking near the center.
