Office of the President treats military spouses

The University of Louisville Office of the President hosted 40 spouses of deployed Fort Knox soldiers to a day of discounted shopping and lunch Dec. 10. December 19, 2011

The trip was organized as an effort to do something to help relieve the pressure of deployments on military spouses. Members of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Duke Brigade, are currently deployed to Afghanistan but are expected to return soon.

One of President James Ramsey objectives for the year is working to address the needs of military members and their families.

Each of the spouses on the trip received generous discounts to stores at Mall St. Matthews and a free lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. The Office of the President purchased dessert.

Executive Director of Military Initiatives and Partnerships Renee Finnegan escorted the spouses on the trip. She received a certificate of appreciation from the Duke Brigade on behalf of President Ramsey.
