Take Back the Night march and vigil on Sept. 29

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lenelle Moise, a poet, actress and playwright who presents works about race, gender, class, immigration and sexuality, will deliver the keynote address for “Take Back the Night,” an annual event that raises awareness about violence against women.

Take Back the Night, which is free and open to the public, will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 29 outside of UofL’s Red Barn.

The event will also commemorate the 10th anniversary of UofL’s Prevention, Education and Advocacy on Campus and in the Community (PEACC), which provides support to students, staff and faculty who are directly or indirectly affected by dating or domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and harassment.
