LOUISVILLE, Ky. – People can get a close-up glimpse of fireworks and fired glass at “Fire & Art 8: Thunder at the Cressman,” a Thunder Over Louisville watch party April 12 at the University of Louisville’s Cressman Center for Visual Arts.

UofL’s Hite Art Institute will offer the party from 3 p.m. to midnight at the center at 100 E. Main St.

Guests can view the Kentucky Derby Festival air show from the top floor of an attached parking garage, see students at work in the center’s glass hot shop, watch family movies, enjoy light refreshments and stroll to and from the nearby waterfront.

Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for children ages 5-12; children age 4 and younger are free. Parking in the connected garage costs $25. Advance reservations are required for the event, which benefits UofL’s fine arts programs.
