Two UofL buildings recognized at Business First Commercial Real Estate Awards

The University of Louisville’s new Student Recreation Center and Nucleus’ new building won first place awards in the Business First Commercial Real Estate Awards. March 12, 2014

The Nucleus, an eight-story, 200,000 square-foot building, opened last fall at the Nucleus Innovation Park in downtown Louisville.  It won the top overall prize as the Deal of the Year, as judged by Business First, because it had the most impact on the community of any new building. The Nucleus also won the Office Project category. Nucleus is an arm of the University of Louisville Foundation.

The state-of-the-art Student Recreation Center on UofL’s Belknap Campus won the Education Project category. David Proffitt, Ken Dietz and SGA Executive Vice President Elizabeth Delaney accepted the recreation center award for UofL along with the architect and contractor while Nucleus CEO Vickie Yates Brown did the same for The Nucleus’ award.
