Uof L fine arts students to display work at annual showcase
Thirteen graduating seniors at the University of Louisville’s Hite Art Institute will show off their works as the final project of their student career. November 21, 2014The Fall 2014 Bachelor of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition will run Dec. 4-20 at the Schneider Hall Galleries. An opening reception will be held Dec. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The student artists will display artwork in a variety of mediums including sculpture, drawing, painting and more. Each student’s collection is comprised of pieces that represent the artist’s unique vision and his or her readiness to enter the professional art world after graduation.
“We are proud of the rigor and quality of our BFA program,” said Ying Kit Chan, chair of the department of fine arts. “This is an exceptional group of student artists and we encourage people to get a preview of some of their earliest works before they begin their professional careers.”

Erica Walsh is the marketing director for the Office of Communications and Marketing. Her job lets her share UofL’s good news in all avenues of communications including publications, advertising, content marketing and branding. Walsh joined UofL in 2014 after previously serving as the public relations specialist at Indiana University Southeast. Prior to her career in higher education communications she was an award-winning newspaper reporter. Red is one of her favorite colors and it’s a good thing, too, because she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Western Kentucky University and her master’s in communication from UofL.
