UofL breaks ground for new welcome center
September 9, 2016University of Louisville officials ceremonially broke ground Thursday for a new welcome center near I-65 and Eastern Parkway.
The $2 million facility is being named after Heddy Kurz, 99, and her late husband Herman Kurz. The facility is scheduled to open in fall 2017.
"The center will serve thousands of visitors, academic and athletic alike, as well as those who work with the university collaborators in the new research park," said Acting Provost Dale Billingsley. "We will use the new Kurz Welcome Center to recruit outstanding students and their supportive families."
