UofL, Georgia to team up for Ronald McDonald House bowl service project
NULL December 15, 2014LOUISVILLE, Ky.— Before the Louisville Cardinals and Georgia Bulldogs face off on the grid iron at the Belk Bowl, their respective fans will team up for a good cause.
Volunteers from the University of Louisville and University of Georgia will work at the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte the morning of the Dec. 30 bowl game. The group will work on a variety of projects to improve the facility and the experience of families staying at the house.
The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte opened in May 2011 to provide the families of children receiving treatment at area medical facilities with a safe, affordable and caring “home away from home.”
UofL students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators and alumni are invited to sign up for the project, which will be limited to 40 UofL volunteers. Work will start at 9 a.m. and end at noon. Bus transportation will be provided to and from the site.
Volunteers must sign up at louisville.edu/student/bowlservice/ by Dec. 27.
