UofL graduate programs ranked among the best in the U.S.
March 27, 2020Some of the University of Louisville’s graduate programs are ranked in the top 100 in the country, according to the recently published U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 Best Grad School Rankings.
Among UofL’s highest rankings on the list are:
- Criminology, No. 30
- Audiology, No. 34
- Social work, No. 44
- Public health, No. 54
- Clinical psychology, No. 64
- Public Affairs, No. 79
Additionally, UofL’s School of Medicine is ranked No. 78 in research, while the School of Nursing is ranked No. 95 for its master’s program and No. 99 for its doctor of nursing practice program.
The College of Business is ranked No. 85, and the Brandeis School of Law is tied for No. 99.
University of Louisville is one of more than 800 institutions with graduate schools surveyed by U.S. News on an annual basis. University of Louisville confers degrees through various schools, including the College of Business, the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, the School of Medicine, the J. B. Speed School of Engineering, the School of Nursing, and the College of Education & Human Development.
Among public universities, UofL’s College of Education and Human Development is No. 84 in the nation.
“We’re delighted that the College of Education and Human Development continues to demonstrate our public recognition and has risen in the national rankings,” said interim dean Dr. Amy Lingo. “We moved up nine spots, and we will continue to spread the word about our impressive academic programs, world class faculty, student centered staff, promising students, and successful alumni.”
The University of Louisville’s College of Education and Human Development is nationally recognized in many other fields. Recent national rankings have also profiled other college programs including:

Each year, U.S. News & World Report ranks graduate school programs in business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing, including specialties in each area. The rankings are based on two types of data: expert opinions about program excellence; and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school's faculty, research and students.
