UofL makes ‘Best for Vets’ list

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville has made “Best for Vets,” a 2015 list of the nation’s most veteran-friendly colleges and universities compiled by Military Times.

The ranking was based on each school’s response to a survey about its culture and services for veteran students and U.S. Department of Education data on its military student graduation rates. Four-year schools, two-year schools and online and nontraditional schools were ranked separately.

UofL, which enrolled 852 military students last year, placed 78th among 100 U.S. four-year colleges ranked as best for veterans. Its operation of an Office of Military and Veteran Student Services, military student graduation rate of 53 percent and use of American Council on Education military credit recommendations were among factors cited in its listing.

Military Times, a U.S. media group owned by Gannett Company, publishes four weekly newspapers for current and former U.S. military personnel: Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times and Marine Corps Times.
