UofL Opera Theatre to present operettas and popular hits

The School of Music Opera Theatre at the University of Louisville will perform an evening of music ranging from Frank Loesser’s Academy Award winning “Baby It’s Cold Outside” to “Die Fledermaus,” by Johann Strauss II, Dec. 2 and 3 at the Rudyard Kipling, 422 W. Oak St. November 21, 2011

There is variety within the student ensemble. Some students are freshmen; others are graduate students who perform regularly in UofL ensembles, said Mike Ramach, director of the music opera program.

“It should be a lot of fun for all ages,” he said.

Admission to the joint “A Frank Loesser Songbook” and “Here’s a Howdy Do – An Operetta Review” is at the discretion of audience members. Patrons are asked to pay what they can.

Dinner reservations are available beginning at 6 p.m. by calling the Rudyard Kipling at 502-636-1311. Expect to hear Frank Loesser songs starting at 7 p.m. and operettas beginning at 8 p.m.
