UofL photographer Tom Fougerousse shares his favorite photos of 2009

Chances are that you've seen Tom Fougerousse around campus. January 8, 2010

As university photographer, he's the guy who shows up with his camera to document UofL events as different as a groundbreaking surgical procedure and an annual beauty pageant; Greek fundraiser and presidential outreach tour.

Many of Fougerousse's photos end up on UofL Today or in university publications - but not all do.

Q: How many photos do you shoot a year?

A: About 40,000, not all I keep. It averages to 3,268 a month.

Q: What was your favorite event to shoot in 2009?

A: Jazz Week/month is always fun. Get entertained while you work.

Q: Do you have a favorite shot?

A: From 2009, the shot of Jerry Tolson through the window at Jazzy Blu or the shot of College of Business Board of Advisors at the window.

Q: How long have you been photog here?

A: Twenty years in May 2010. That's a lot of photos.
