UofL provides overview of medicine, bioengineering advances Feb. 7 in Lexington
NULL January 31, 2013LEXINGTON, Ky. – The interim dean of the University of Louisville School of Medicine will provide an update on recent initiatives and spotlight faculty collaborations with UofL’s J.B. Speed School of Engineering at a Fireside Conversation hosted by the UofL Alumni Association in Lexington, Ky.
Toni Ganzel, M.D., will be joined by three faculty members and a medical student at the event, set for 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, in the Colonial A Room of the Crowne Plaza Hotel-The Campbell House, 1375 S. Broadway in Lexington. Admission is free.
Ganzel and the group will provide information on the pioneering work currently being carried out by faculty in cardiothoracic surgery and bioengineering at the two schools. A relatively new engineering discipline, bioengineering employs traditional engineering theory and processes in analyzing and solving problems in biology and medicine.
