UofL trustees approve new officers, goals for 2011-2012
NULL September 9, 2011LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville Board of Trustees approved new officers and goals for 2011-2012 at a Sept. 8 meeting and gave its support to several proposed capital improvement projects.
Frank Minnifield of Georgetown, a UofL alumnus, entrepreneur and former NFL player, was elected chair, and Dr. Robert Hughes, a Murray, Ky., physician was elected vice chair. Board members spoke at length about outgoing chair Owsley Brown Frazier and his positive impact on the university. Frazier will remain on the board.
Goals for senior administrators for 2011-2012 were discussed and approved at the meeting. The goals, reviewed each year, target areas for continuous improvement such as boosting graduation rates, awarding more doctoral degrees, encouraging diversity on campus, increasing philanthropy and community engagement and more.
