'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' to launch free summer movie series

The force will be strong at the University of Louisville May 20. The latest “Star Wars” installment will kick off the seventh season of the free Cards Under the Stars summer movie series, sponsored by UofL and Commonwealth Credit Union.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. on the lawn between the Natural Sciences Building and Grawemeyer Hall. The film begins around sunset.

Concessions will be available for purchase from Lil Cheezers, Sweet N Savory and Holy Mole food trucks.

Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. Parking is available in the lots next to Grawemeyer Hall (2301 S. Third St.) and behind Ernst Hall (216 Eastern Pkwy.).

Cards Under the Stars will continue Friday, June 24, with “Zootopia,” and July 22 with “Inside Out.”
